Raquel Gallego is a Los Angeles based cinematographer and camera operator lensing dramatic - comedy narrative, commercials, documentaries and music videos.
She has worked in the film industry in Spain, Mexico and the USA for over a decade and loves to travel the globe.
Born in San Francisco, California and raised in Madrid, Spain, Raquel is fluent in Spanish and English and brings to her image-making a European sensibility with a Western attitude. Her passion for film and photography drove her to pursue her career as a Director of Photography.
She is fascinated by stories that convey timeless emotions through lighting, color and composition.
Her mentors have included Gabriel Beristain ASC, BSC, Sion Michel, Gonzalo Amat ASC, Matias Mesa and Pedro Castro and she has consistently moved up the ranks in the camera department from assistant, to camera operator to director of photography for studio feature films and television shows with credits such as Marvel’s BLACK WIDOW, AGENT CARTER and SNOWFALL directed by Emmy nominated Jon Singleton.

YOUR IRON LADY directed by Jorge Xolalpa Jr shot in 2019 is narrative feature premiering at the Florida Film festival 2020 (Oscar qualifying festival). Nominated for Best Cinematography (Jury Nominee) at the Sunscreen Film Festival, US.
THE GUITAR Bronze Winner Best Cinematography Award May 2018, Independent Short Awards, Silver Winner Best Cinematography, LA Short Awards. Ensemble award at GFFA (Global Film Festival Awards) which Raquel Gallego was finalist for Best Cinematography.
FRÁGIL EQUILIBRIO (additional photography Los Angeles unit and Spain main unit) Winner for Best Documentary at the Spanish Academy Awards (Goya 2017) and winner of 1st prize at the 61st Seminci Film Festival, Valladolid, Spain.
